Gut Health & Microbiome

shift your gut health

Functional medicine and nutrition support for those with chronic gut symptoms, leaky gut, and digestive issues.

The health of your gut and microbiome determines more than your body’s ability to digest and utilize food. Our microbiome is often thought of as our second brain, influencing all of our body’s essential functions: blood sugar and weight management, brain health and mood regulation, immune response, our ability to detox from environmental toxins and hormones, and blood pressure and cardiovascular health. Gut issues like IBS, leaky gut, poor motility, indigestion and heartburn can all be signs of a poor microbiome.

The Approach

Treatment for the entire body, not just your symptoms.

No matter the diagnosis, functional medicine principles encourage us to step back and examine the interconnected systems of the entire body. Once we identify the root cause of your symptoms and disease, we are able to support your body’s innate ability to heal itself through nutrition, supplements and herbs, and lifestyle choices. We layer this support on top of Western medicine modalities and testing to provide more complete care.

Full-spectrum care

To support a healthy microbiome, we will also address:

  • Blood sugar regulation
  • Hormone balancing & replacement
  • Detox pathways & toxin exposure
  • Blood pressure & heart health
  • Joint pain & inflammation
  • Sleep health
  • Stress & cortisol management

A PATH FORWARD

A personalized approach to gut health

No matter where you are on your journey with healing your gut and digestion, Dr. Booth will provide personalized, data-driven care and education to inform all your next steps.

Understand a new diagnosis

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), GERD, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Gastritis, and leaky gut are just a few of the many common gastrointestinal diagnoses. With every consultation and treatment plan, Dr. Booth builds-in education around gut health and its impacts on the rest of the body’s systems so that you can become your own best advocate for your health.

Functional testing

An expanded toolkit of testing and lab interpretation gives us a more granular view of your gut and as a result, a more targeted treatment plan. Alongside comprehensive blood panels to test for inflammation markers and other signs of disease, the GI-MAP® test allows us to see what bacteria – good and bad – lives in your gut and how that may affect your microbiome and overall gut health.

Functional nutrition

As a Certified Functional Nutritionist, Dr. Booth’s treatment plans include stacking food, supplement, and lifestyle habits to help you shift your gut health over time. Partnering with other Functional Nutritionists in her practice gives patients access to even more advanced knowledge and support as they work to improve their gut health.

Navigate ongoing treatment

Common gastrointestinal diagnoses often come without a clear treatment plan. Tracing your diagnosis back to the root cause of your symptoms will allow us to offer functional medicine protocols that layer on top of the support you receive from your primary care physician and gastroenterologist.

“Dr. Booth is exceptional - her depth of knowledge and professionalism and understanding of how the body works is just mind blowing. I highly recommend anyone to have an initial consult with her just for the experience."
